Welcome to the “CEO AI Theatre”.
Every CEO and every business owner talks about AI these days. It makes them sound innovative and position their company as efficient and progressed.
If you look under the hood of large corporations and smaller businesses, not a lot is changing.
They adopt an ‘AI Pet’ and put it in the front. Every once in a while, they play with it, invite employees and customers to run around, and they like to take cute pictures everyone will engage and say “Oh… it’s so cute”.
What CEOs, founders and business owners need to do?
➡️ They need to go back and become students of AI — If you really want to be a AI leader you need more than just write prompts on ChatGPT. Go and learn, every day, even if you are a big shot. Learn about foundational models, learn about Large and Small models, context, tools and more — get your hands dirty. Yes.. your suite might get dirty as well!
➡️ AI is not a tool any more, it needs to change your company culture — AI should be in everything you do. From rethinking how you ideate to how you onboard your employees. You need to embed it within a human environment and think how you build a culture that is with compassion and empathy and at the same time superintelligent.
➡️ AI should have a change in every business and engineering process — If you don’t have a plan to revise every process you have, and rethink it with AI, you are not doing it right. Have a roadmap with a plan on how processes will change. Your Managers will have to lead it — no place for AI detractors.
➡️ AI talent first — the people on your team should all be AI advocates. This moves so fast that in my view you cannot afford to have people who will try to create an AI immune system. Everyone should change their mindset and the people you hire, should demonstrate skills and curiosity for AI.
